Hawaii SBDC Oahu Center presents an employer's workshop for new and existing businesses on the following topics: State of Hawaii DLIR - Wage Standards Division * Understanding Hawaii's labor laws; payment of wages, minimum wage and overtime, tip credit, employees breaks, etc * Hawaii's public works prevailing wage law * Employment of Minors * Review of common penalties State of Hawaii DLIR - Disability Compensation Division * Worker's Compensation - Temporary Disability and Prepaid Health Care Laws * Discussion of the Prepaid Health Premium Supplementation Funds. Federal funds are available for reimbursement to qualified businesses. Does my business qualify and how can it be reimbursed for health premiums paid for employees? United States Department of Labor - Wage and Hour Division * FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act): Minimum wage, overtime, independent contractor vs employee, record keeping, child labor, notice requirements, and more * New Payroll Audit Independent Determination, (PAID) Program - self-audit program that enables employers to resolve minimum wage and overtime violations under the FLSA
